Parfait

All you need to do to prepare this breakfast is a mason jar or equivalent, your choice of flavored yogurt, crushed granola, chopped apple or alternative, and some chopped grapes.

Mix these ingredients into a mason jar, keep refrigerated, or in a cooler and you’ve got yourself a sweet yet nutritious breakfast. Perfect for those early mornings.

Sausage Breakfast Sandwich

This meal is a go-to for any campsite. If you’re looking for something a little more filling this recipe will do.

Start by preparing the sausage patties at home and store them in your cooler. As soon as you have your barbeque up and running throw the patties right onto the grille. Add in a fried egg, and your choice of sauce, and you'll have yourself a delicious breakfast in no time.

For an extra bit of taste, toast the breakfast buns before assembling them.

Foil Baked Sweet Potato and Chilli

Baked potato combined with a simple vegetarian chili is an easy, delicious meal for those chilly nights.

Start by wrapping a sweet potato in aluminum foil and tossing it into the flames of a campfire. In the hot embers of a campfire give the potato about 30 minutes to bake.

While the potato is cooking chop up an onion and sauté it in a small pot or pan. Add some beans, tomato paste, beer, chili powder, and your choice of spices, and let it simmer.

Once the potatoes become soft to the touch it's time to assemble your meal. Cut open your sweet potato, be sure to save the foil for any spillage, and pour in your cooked chili.

For extra chef points, you can always cut up some green onions for garnish. Now you’re ready to eat!

Campfire Apple Crisps

After a good hearty day of delicious meals, you need to have your dessert. Although s’mores are still on the menu, this recipe is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

To start, pre-heat a cast iron pan over a campfire. In the meantime, cut up a few apples into nice thin slices. Toss them onto the pan and let them soften up until you see the apple juice flowing into the pan.

Next add some brown sugar, cinnamon, and 3 teaspoons of bourbon. Mix over the heat to burn off the alcohol and reduce the liquids in the pan.

Once the sauce begins to thicken it's now time to sprinkle on some of your favorite crushed granola.

Serve with ice cream or some whipped cream on the side and you’ve got yourself the perfect campsite dessert!

French Toast Delight

Looking for a tasty finger food recipe that is totally dunkable in some maple syrup? Then you can stop the search. The delicious recipe can be used for dessert or breakfast, and best of all it's perfect for the kids!

Start by scrambling some eggs into a bowl. Be sure to scramble them real good so when it comes time to add the milk you get a rich creamy batter. Add some milk and light spices and stir! This step can be done at home before you hit the campsite. Just store it in a cooler.

Once the batter is prepared, it's time to prep the bread. Get a thick loaf of bread and slice it into 3-4 slices.

Heat a pan over a fire or grill, and melt some butter to coat the bottom. Dunk your sliced bread into your batter and place them onto the pan. Once it starts to brown, rotate and continue until it is a nice golden brown all around.

That’s it! Once done serve with some fresh fruit, whipped cream, and some good old Canadian maple syrup for dipping. CAMPING
